Pharma companies get public funding for research and then turn around and charge insane prices for the final product infuriatingly referring to research costs to justify their pricing.

Hospitals are bought and run by investment companies.

“Insurance” scammers corporations have their own fiefdoms that they control so there’s very little competition and their sole reason for existing is to take your money and deny coverage for absolutely anything they can possibly deny you for so they keep the most money possible.

I had an issue with my foot and the doctor requested an MRI as an ultrasound wouldn’t show them anything they needed to see. The fucking insurance company says no, do the ultrasound… So I paid for a fucking useless ultrasound and then they refused to move forward with anything else… The issue kinda went away thankfully but there’s still something odd with my foot that I guess I just won’t fix until I can pay completely out of pocket.

I’m so fucking happy that at least $1,200 monthly is taken out of my potential pay to cover a fucking useless insurance scam, because remember even if your employer “pays” it’s factored into your total compensation so you’re still the one paying.

I feel like I’m in the middle ground of this whole post.

I hate the loose “air pods” but I absolutely love my “wireless” earphones that have the solid neckband and wires going to each earbud.

I use them exclusively at work so when someone needs to talk to me I just pop it out and it dangles by the cord. I never lose them and I’m not tied to my phone. I used to hate the damn cable getting caught up on anything and everything ripping my phone out of my pocket/hand.

Honestly my only issue with them is literally anyone who is not them is “an evil pro-genocide lib” (lib, liberal is like the biggest insult they can throw at you as it’s essentially the definition of their opposition.) Doesn’t exactly feel great to see an entire community see you as the absolute evil and everything that is wrong with the world just because you may not agree that an economy run by committee is the best way, or that an authoritarian “vanguard” is the right way to a better society.

If they’re all about workers solidarity and community then they should try to see us if anything as simply “ignorant” not stupid, not willingly aiding genocide, just lacking information that they could help share. Instead a lot of them are just vicious. There are some like Cowbee that seem like good people who want to help others understand their views.

Not everyone can do that unfortunately as it is illegal. We’re “forced” to have a lunch break, which I support the idea of, I just hate that I have to stay the extra hour when “normal” full time jobs are 9-5 and the lunch is in that 8 hours…

15 days is the limit at my job that you only get after 7 years working here. Seeing comments like this make me sad… Happy for you for sure, but sad for me cuz Murica’…

I wish I was forced into programming… I tried on my own and just don’t have the mind for it, I find it incredibly boring. All my friends are in the field and all work from home wherever the hell they want to live. I’m stuck in a VHCOL area with shit income and 0 potential to increase it :(

People are such scumbags on Amazon. If you aren’t paying attention and just quickly go to rebuy something like deodorant (like I just did) you can end up spending over $50 for 2 sticks… I had to actually go to the manufacturers page to find what I was looking for as I guess they changed packaging and all the assholes are charging insane prices for the “old style” package.

Surge pricing is such a fucked up term. How about lunch/dinner time price gouging? That’s what this is.

Supposedly the argument for the recent absurd food prices is because of oil prices increasing (translates to shipping costs increasing) so much with Russia invading Ukraine and everyones sanctions on Russian oil plus the disruption of wheat production in Ukraine.
