    I’m certainly nervous about the US sending a CSG there, with their history and all… but in this case, it’s a way to prevent counter offensives by neighboring countries, which do have a tendency towards invading Israel. If they intervene, things have gone reaaaally wrong.

    Well this and the fact that the CSG acts as a moving warehouse for selling/providing weapons to Israel.

      Biden specifically asked Israel not to use the situation for an easy land grab in his speech on the situation.

          In the six days war they attacked the USS Liberty reconnaissance ship with fighter jets and torpedo boats and then invaded the Golan Heights.
