“The whales will give us money no matter what so we figured fuck it”
Let me try to translate it from corpo-speak to plain English: “We thought of a higher number and we like that one better. And besides, suckers will still pay, so why the hell not? Oh, also, multicore!”
The marketing team read the patch notes, and had several questions as to what this newfangled “multi-core” was. They decided it sounded so high tech that if they used it as a justification for a price increase, there would be no way the public would see through them.
I had hoped Bonnie Ross and Frank OConnor being gone meant Halo could be brought back. I was willing to give 343 another chance, but this is really not looking good.
I figured they were finished the moment Halo multiplayer was announced to be F2P. There are few ways you can make a good free multiplayer game, still have a sort of microtransaction system that isn’t predatory, and still have people want to play it.
Reading that statement made me realise how distant Halo is to me now. Also…
Multi-core enabled!
