  • In my mind the best action movies are the movies where the action shines the most and bad plot doesn’t get in the way. I haven’t seen John Wick which I’ve heard excels in this, but I gotta say I think Mad Max: Fury Road deserves high praise for being a great movie nearly all about raw action.

Furthermore, we are not in the “2000s” anymore, we’re in the 2020s. We are well into the third decade of this millennium. The 70s, 80s, and 90s do have commonalities in the action movies of each era and I feel like those probably exist for the 00s, 10s, and 20s as well though I can’t identify them yet.

If Fury Road is my favorite of the 10s, then maybe Prey is my favorite of the 20s, and Transformers is my favorite of the 00s.

I know everything I mentioned is part of an established franchise but I don’t care all that much. Good action movies can still be creative using established stakes and framing if they have good direction. All 3 of those movies definitely have that. I thoroughly enjoy and am excited by the action in those movies each time I watch them. Lackluster stories aside they are all awesome.

  • I have no complaints about this game. Everytime I play it something puts a smile on my face. The details in every element are wonderful - the environments are gorgeous and interactive, the action figures are beautifully textured and animated, and the enemies are diverse in both appearance and behavior. The guns, tower defense tools, and platforming are all fun too. I really hope this Xbox release gives it a big playerbase boost. The devs have put so much love into it.

  • Despite the privacy concerns, Microsoft says that the Recall index remains local and private on-device, encrypted in a way that is linked to a particular user’s account.

Just like how Microsoft domain-bound emails were stored locally on machines running Outlook, right? Or how purchasing and downloading music, movies, and video games meant that we owned them, right?

I don’t believe for a fucking second that this “feature” will remain locally encrypted forever. Fuck Microsoft, fuck the AI bubble.

    “Don’t be evil!

wait, you say you’ll pay me to be evil? Well fuck that changes everything!”

  • This idea really has me tickled pink. It’s like if Unicron was a fuckin dinobot.

That being said it’s hard to forget that the difference in elevation between Mt. Everest and the Mariana trench is less than the greatest variation in elevation on a standard regulation billiard ball so this would be one gummy ass velociraptor dinobot planet
