We have the electoral college, the senate, and gerrymandering.
The outsized effect of the EC and Gerrymandering have a very simple fix. I wonder why Democrats never talk about it?

It’s sad you have no third strong grassroots movement,
One of the few things that both Democrats and Republicans work together on is making sure that there are no viable third parties. They make it extraordinarily difficult to get ballot access at any level whenever possible and on the odd occasion that a 3rd party candidate does make it into office they pull out all the stops to make sure they lose the next election.
Tiedrich? Blech, tired old has-been who, like Trump, should have disappeared years ago.
Okay that I’m aware of but I’ve never heard of it referred to as “bootstrapping”. Thanks for the explanation.
My internet being bootstrapped by ISP…
Seriously, what does “bootstrapped” mean in this context?
Edit: if you are going to downvote at least explain if you got a counter point, otherwise it seems y’all just butthurt haha
Okay.
How is this different from US ISP bootstrapping peasant grade internet?
So basically you are getting downvoted because your comment is irrelevant 'Murica bashing.
Now you know.
What are the chances that I, a not particularly tech savvy person, go to download mint and end up bricking my computer?
Very low. You’ll download Mint and set it up on a USB drive, then boot that USB drive and be able to run it live BEFORE you make any permanent changes to your computer.
Its pretty straightforward and completely covered in the official Installation Documentation.
Thanks for calling it to my attention but I’m not going to argue it either way.
What bot are you referring too?
Because too many mods are power tripping assholes and I say that as someone whose been a mod in various corners of the Internet since at least 2000.
The best mods, and admins, are nearly invisible and as close to drama free as possible.
You never know, they could written something out without fully considering the ramifications. It happens.
Heroes don’t kill hundreds of people, they save them.
Ah, so the people killing Nazi’s in WWII aren’t Heroes anymore. They should have saved the Nazis instead!
Are you hearing yourself?
I hope that Iran doesn’t listen. This grudge should have been settled long ago.
I’ve already read several comments just like that over on .ml.
Serie A are a bunch of greedy cunt bags trying to re-arrange how the Internet works to try and protect their precious footy matches. Fuck 'em.
Working system until you need to upgrade something.
Why are you attempting to upgrade slack? You install, configure to purpose and leave it be. When it’s purpose changes you re-install and re-configure! Nothing could be simpler!
I think I blew up my first Slack install in about 12 minutes while trying to get a video camera to work as a webcam. It took me 3 god damned days and more than a few re-installs but I did get it going…and then spent 30 minutes web chatting with a guy from Serbia. The video was the size of a postage stamp.
Well, yes. That is how it works!
As someone who started with slack in '97 these modern distros function so “automagically” that I sometimes distrust them. They’ve hidden so much of the complexity of Linux and whatever Desktop Environment is running on it that most users have very little idea what’s actually happening or how it works.
That’s been GREAT for getting more people to use Linux but it’s creating the same problem that Microsoft did with Windows. The old DOS users often knew quite a lot about their PC and how it worked because they had to but as the technical barriers went down so too did the knowledge of the users. You no longer had to juggle IRQs, Memory Maps, or DLLs because Windows just did it for you.
That’s not a bash (lol) on Linux or users of modern distros either, I myself am on Linux Mint as I type this, because it was always going to work out like this. A lot of very smart people put a lot of their time into MAKING it work out like this.
What are some of these connections men need out of a marriage?
Basically the same connections that women need out of a marriage. A peer group, a purpose, and friend groups to share interests with.
Unfortunately many, if not most, people simply don’t know how to go about it. They throw themselves into their work and whatever of their time is leftover gets dedicated to family. The interests and friends that they had prior to marriage and kids are left behind and those sacrifices leave them feeling alone and unfulfilled. They also don’t understand WHY they feel that way when to the best of their understanding they’re doing everything right!
Marriage isn’t, except in exceedingly rare instances, a “one stop shop” where your partner somehow magically fulfills your every need. That’s straight up Disney Movie bullshit.
People, regardless of gender identity, absolutely REQUIRE relationships outside of their marriage.
Cool, what took them so long?
