  • This sentence starts with an unexplained gun fight! I think explosion! that an over reliance on bass boosted explosion! spectacle and attempting to pass off as intelligent story telling while reusing the same basic bass boosted explosion! plots over and over is killing movies. Not to mention trying to leave everything open for a sequel even if it means ruining and otherwise comp

President Camacho legitimately being a better leader than most IRL heads of state rn. It wasn’t really the guys fault he was an idiot being born at the point of degredation he was and the guy still institutes a state wide intelligence testing program to find the smartest person he can and put that guy in charge.

  • One way or another I’m moving to Linux for my next PC. but damn I finally think I understand enough to decide Debian would be a good ‘it just works’ distro and then Linux users out the woodwork telling me its actually a pain in the ass and to use XYZ (all disagreeing) distros instead. I’m like 90% sure its going to be Debian, Ubuntu or Mint but beyond that its more uncertain than the inside of a black hole.

  • I see it as trying to combat the dystopia where not only is our data scraped but now every single thing we write, draw or film is fed into an AI that will ultimately be used to create huge amounts of wealth for very few, essentially monetizing our very existence online in a way thats entierly unavoidable and without consent.

In addition its entierly one way, google and others can grab as much of our data as they want while most of us would have an extremely hard time even getting granted a freedom of information request about ourselves, let alone grabbing a similar amount of data about those same corporations.

I guess it depends where and when you are in the medieval era. In some places even knowing that steels properties are largely determined by its carbon content and not some other component of the regional addatives would be a valuble insight. In other places they already have metalurgy developed enough for spring steel so even with a degree it might be hard to implement improvements with the other technology available.

  • The rockets and the gun. I can use the rockets to prove I have useful knowledge while using the gun to prove that my stuff is mechanisms not magic (by taking it apart). I’ll then set about teaching them how to make gunpowder (charcoal, sulphur, saltpeter) and once I’m truly established we can move on to basic firearms.
