Absolutely sexist. I’m honestly kind of dumbfounded by the number of people opposing this. France has done some stupid shit recently, but they are absolutely in the right here.

Come on now, just because someone is poking fun at woke culture doesn’t mean they’re Ron DeSantis (the guy who from my understanding wants to ban trans people and is persecuting gay people as well).
It’s as if it was only yesterday that I watched him flip nvidia off.

I’d agree, except the progressives and conservatives align with the left and right respectively in 99% of cases. Some even go as far as to consider their social values inseparable from the economic ones. When’s the last time you met a conservative socialist, for instance?
“Both sides bad” is a bad take when applied to economics. In that area, one side is clearly superior. However, when it comes to politics as a whole, specifically social values, the other commenter is right. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’m crazy about the right’s social values or anything, but I am very critical of some of the stuff the left is promoting lately (and no, I don’t mean just chronically online liberals).
I think OP was referring to the communists that founded lemmy and run this instance, in which case there is no party.
You’re actually the one infantilizing the divide in this case and I’m saying this as a socialist myself.
Keep in mind, you are posting this to lemmy.ml, so I don’t know what you expected… Maybe something like this would be better recieved on lemmy.world or on your account’s instance.
It means desktop environment and window manager respectively. Windows has only one (it being the default) and is not unix, so you should probably post this elsewhere.
How effective are VPNs at preventing this? I’ve heard it recommended the most as a counter measure.
It’s still relatively new so it’s gonna take time for it to reach mainstream meme status like Arch or Gentoo.
So, is this like a joke post making fun of what was posted in the pcmr community? I’m legitimately asking, I can’t tell if this is a troll or not.
So true! Here, have some internet points and validation!
I’ve used only ublock for a while and haven’t had any issues with sites detecting adblock. Heck, even with the recent youtube debacle I still block ads on yt and haven’t noticed any of the things people are complaining about. Though, I have youtube enhancer as well which also blocks ads.
So we’re talking insults and no one’s gonna mention Serbian… Пуши курац is a classic!
I wouldn’t say it’s not much. Honestly, you did an excellent job with this. Also I can’t believe I never thought of using stable diffusion for a wallpaper.
Probably because of Windows exclusive software. When an art student friend asked me to install Linux on her laptop I told her she shouldn’t go for it because she’ll have a massive headache as soon as her teacher asks her to install photoshop. Don’t get me wrong I love Linux and the BSDs, but there are certain use cases where they’re not the right choice.
That truly sucks. Yeah, some professors can be like that. I had a math professor offer bonus points to the first 3 students completed the assignment, only for the majority to cheat and just look up the answer and turn that in. It became a contest of who could copy the fastest and one student even admitted to doing it, but she just didn’t care and gave points to the cheaters anyway.
To be completely fair, he nuked his desktop environment when it absolutely shouldn’t have happened. Yes, there was the warning and he should’ve read it, but coming from Windows, how many times is the “This app may harm your PC” threat legitimate? Linus made an honest mistake, but pop truly made a massive oversight.
I’ve heard it’s actually employees sending the threats, not developers. Unsure if it’s true, but if it is, it just goes to show how much of an awful boss Riccitiello is.
