Hopefully this encourages the use of biking, public transportation, or at the very least, transportation services that provide better employee benefits.
Uber needs to remember that society functioned just fine before them. It can survive just fine without them.
I’ll also add that if you’re looking to replace the recommendation algorithm, you can use Last.FM, AOTY, RYM, or even Instagram (I follow a lot of artists and the recommended posts when I go to search something have actually been decent. really strange and perplexing)
Also, if you find any CDs you don’t care for anymore, see if you can donate them to your local library :)
So I recently terminated my Spotify subscription and moved my library to Jellyfin.
For my phone client, I use Symfonium. There are other options available (even FOSS options if you prefer), but I liked Symfonium’s UI the best. It also has a rolling offline cache setting that I find very useful. However, it does have a one time fee of 5 USD. But the client is completely up to your preference - no right choice.
If you care about Last.FM scrobbling, use something like Pano Scrobbler on your phone.
For desktop streaming, Jellyfin isn’t required. Use which ever media player you like best.
As for accessing your Jellyfin server outside your home network, Tailscale is an option. It was relatively easy to set up, even for someone who’s dumb with networking.

I think they criticise VFX because there’s an end goal of being indistinguishable from reality.
Commenting on story, execution, and uniqueness requires actual taste and a personal bias which may least to reduced views and interaction.
It’s been resolved! Just wish these films were longer so I could enjoy them for longer.
I haven’t seen fury road, but I liked this film a lot. The break up in parts and slower pacing was a great way to tell the story. I bought the ticket on a whim and I’m really happy I did.

I just saw it and this is the CGI I love to see: so much detail and fully committed to utilising it.
Besides that, the story was nothing to write home. If they make another one, I’m fully cheering for the good apes. I am ready to return to monke!
Also, I think it’s funny between this, the king kong movie, and monkey man, we’ve had a lot of primate-related movies release in such a short span (~2 months)

Being addicted to working and hoarding money beyond reason is an addiction at the end of the day and it has wide reaching impact. They need to get serious help.
I feel like burned in subtitles would be ideal - especially if they do the bit where Grace performs the Fourier Transformation to determine how Rocky voices himself and sets up the foundation for their translation methodology.
I really hope they don’t do what they did with Hanus in Spaceman (2024) and just have him speak English and say “skinny human” over and over again.

this was also the first book i read in 7 years and it sparked my newfound love for reading after despising it all my life. shout out to the librarian who recommended me this book and my local library!
I agree that the first one was rushed. I think the introduction of Mechagodzilla as the actual villain so late in the movie detracted from the enjoyment of the story. But I think they did a better job about that this time around.
They introduce the new villain about halfway through the movie, then spend the time having Kong and Godzilla prepare for the fight. Then the final fight is the standard 10-20 minutes. That timing feels more standard to me, which I liked.
Also I just bought the blurays for both the Godzilla movies yesterday! I’m so excited to add them to my collection.

I saw it Thursday and I’ll be honest, I kind of liked this one. Definitely a lot of fun watching this on the bigger screen at the theater that eats up my entire peripheral vision. These MonsterVerse movies really appeal to my inner child who gets excited seeing big monster fight
Plus they didn’t skimp on the CGI, so you actually get to see King Kong and Godzilla a good amount.

I watched it yesterday and I thought it was a pretty standard, washed out movie.
The only part that got a solid laugh from me was Kumail’s performance and how Lucky was talking about his Dadi like that when they went to his flat. Dadi is Hindi/Urdu for your paternal grandmother.
I also appreciate the decorations the employees did at the theatre. They’re all cool people :)

I’ve seen a lot of people move to Mint or Pop_OS or Kubuntu. They’re Debian based so updates are pretty stable.
I personally ended up with EndeavourOS using the KDE desktop environment. I have a steam deck, so this felt very similar to me. This is Arch based so sometimes updates break things, but I’ve had more success here.
Also remember that no distro is problem-free, but neither was Windows. The longer you commit, the easier it gets.
EDIT: If you’re hesitant to fully commit at first, I also recommend dual booting with Windows. Over time you’ll use it less and less until one day you feel like reclaiming the disk space.
