I’ll give this a look, but I worry the files I would like to sync won’t be available for some with how random the file access is from app to app.

I have a S23U and edge panels to open up new apps and one hand operation + to make gestures from the edges helps me navigate with one hand.
Despite having an iPad Pro I would say my S23U is more advanced than my iPadOS. My S23U has better external monitor support for one, and file system makes it much closer to actually feeling like a computer over my tablet. Then there’s not needing to use stuff like the Alt store to side load. And apps like syncthing make iOS/iPadOS limitations so apparent with how files sync seamlessly across my Linux, Mac, Windows, and Android devices while my iPadOS is the black sheep in that department with the limited file access when trying out syncthing equivalent apps.
Apple is a very restrictive mobile that just doesn’t have great compatibility for anything that isn’t Apple. That it doesn’t let it be advanced despite the powerful chip becomes really apparent if you try to do anything more than try and use it outside Apple devices, use external monitors, or even want to split screen when it comes to iOS.
One thing it has going for it though is long term updates, but my iPad is pretty an expensive glorified comic book reader most of the time now. I found myself wishing iPadOS had the equivalent of edge panels and one hand operations+ so I could just navigate more easily without having to do full hand gestures.
I’m jealous of the tildes app since I loved reddit is fun.
It would help if there was unique animations each time, but it’s the same exact movement that makes it get tiresome.
I got a zero weight mod so I wouldn’t need to bother with inventory management.
Games that give you rapid and fun ways to travel have been ones that I’ve actually not found tedious to get from point a to point b. Methods I’ve like have been blink (teleporting short distances), grapple hook, super speed, flying, etc.
But, just old fashioned running or driving gets stale fast.
Samsung handles it well since it lets you hide the cut out on a per app basis, and doesn’t push down the status bar either. Just blacks it out while keeping all the time and notifications still there.
So watching 21:9 with that option makes it so the notch doesn’t become part of the video.
But, Oneplus 7 pro handled it the best with the pop up camera.
I’ve been thinking about getting an apple watch just for Apple pay and a cheap iPhone to set it up, since you can use the Apple watch to pay without internet or the iPhone after set up. Then I could root and stuff on my phone without having to rely on safety net anymore for wallets.
Samsung handles it nice where you can hide the cutout on a per app basis, and doing so doesn’t move the status bar down but keeps it where it is. With the amoled display it looks like a normal status bar with the notch or pinhole camera not being obvious.
I’m not sure why some phones don’t give that option, since if you do they shift down the status bar below the notch instead of just turning it black. Such a simple software solution.
I meant phones when I mentioned volume and power button.
I’d rather have that return than have a foldable.
Screen scanners seem much more sensitive to dry and callused fingers than dedicated finger print scanners of old. Some can’t even use it because their skin texture isn’t picking it up well, or have to do things like lick their finger before using which is gross. I miss the power button scanners or rear ones.
Depends one what function. Volume and power on a phone I find better than touch controls, since I can control it without looking. And do things like hold the power button to turn of flash light or double tap power button to bring up camera. No need for screen to have been on.
For more complicated UI then touchscreen is better with it being more dynamic like selecting songs.
Going to be nice not have baby the phone so much and do stuff like limiting it to 85%. And then having to go to a phone store to replace the battery because taking it apart can break the screen. And the cost making you rethink replacing the battery and just going for a newer phone.
I hope moving communities and accounts from different instances becomes possible. I would like to see communities start moving away congregating on the largest instance, and instead maybe start joining instances based on topic. So all music related instances whether it be specific genres or bands go to a music instance. And tv show ones go to an entertainment instance. So everything just kind of becomes categorized into something easier follow and find when it comes to looking for new communities.

The FiiO m5 looks very promising. Thanks for the recommendation.
Samsung s23 ultra is my first Samsung and despite having come from Pixels and Oneplus I found I actually liked the Samsung stuff like edge panel, one hand plus+ operation, and sound assistant. All the good lock additions was like getting custom rom features. Find it hard to consider a phone without something like the Spen too now, since I use it to take notes and select text.
