I must admit, that I have not watched a single game of the 2022 Qatar world cup, so I couldn’t have told from memory. I had to look it up, and apparently the world cup first started using VAR in 2018:

It is still a manual review process, though, so I am pretty sure some wrong calls still slip through if the referee decides not to use the VAR because they think their call was accurate.
But… The world cup uses replays, its called VAR and is used in unclear situations.

as a tire enthusiast, I can certainly see the intended joke, but it falls flat on it’s face as it should be quite obvious to anyone that this thread pattern is not from a Goodyear tire, but quite clearly Pirelli. 🤓
