I am more looking into BTRF for backup due to I run Linux and not BSD ZFS requires more RAM I only have one disk I want to benefit from snapshots, compression and deduplication.
Use timeshift on your brtf partions. Also dnf5 is soon coming and going to be default.
So far no problem at all for me. It is also pretty fast to reinstall if needed.
I am against container as they are slower to start and much bigger. I think they solve the problem the wrong way. Next step is probably a VM…
Firefox have always been possible to run without container so what is the problem for all Linux distributions that containers solve? Nowadays developers have do to both… That did not less the load.
I moved to Fedora kde. Smaller, newer packages(kde 6), and wayland updated.
There is no reason to fight Ubuntu, just pick something that is not against your priorties. I came from Windows 10 and there was a lot of fighting for respecting user choice.
You never want opinions from bots. Only humans. But may be hard to figure out.
Anyone who has a list of argument that have proven to increase the popularity of Linux usage in countries? Example like Windows products are banned in China or similar.
He can focus on solving the technical problems. Like have a list of things that has to be done in order for people to be happy with it. Missing feature? Starting guide? Limit what features can be used? C to Rust converter? He does not have to solve it alone, like he did with git. He just need to decide the direction.
Good. Competition is good. If they suceed or fail just means we learn and build a better product.
Not leagaly but users will be frustated and leave. They will rollback within a day so you will not need to worry too much.
No ads. Lightweight app/website.
Maybe it is just avoiding big tech.
You will be asked during the upgrade to 11H2 if you want to enable recall. Sure it is good to ask before enabling it but it is so unwanted feature so it is not even worth the question, just have it disabled.
Sweden with BankID. The main app for it. Sometimes the goverment(not the banks) offers the alternative Freja E-ID https://frejaeid.com/. The banks built BankID and charge companies that use it(not consumers).
Please don’t confused this with backup as a sync could trigger a delete.
I have the need to have different accounts to everything. Hate to perform the sign up process over and over again. They really need to standardize this.
Passkeys is one step forward but far from enough.
I hate the idea of having to login again and again with just a minute interval that I see BankID requires as it is for different things. Like I constantly have to prove it is still me here. BankID is the app in my country that gives you access to your Bank account, government stuff and so on. It connects to your personal number and ID you in real life.
So the issues you describe is just the result of how bad designed the web is today. It is simple for every company but hard for the user.
So Google is a monopoly and removing funding to Firefox will help them not to be a monopoly? That does not sound right. Rather the opposite.
Nothing has been decided or done yet. Most likely they will just be forced to not abuse their position, for example make ads for it on www.google.com, don’t bundle Chrome with Android and such things.
I believe there will always be an alternative to Chrome available as the Open Source community will find a way together.
Block Chrome and use anything not Chrome based. In other words use Firefox.
Dataloss is never fun. File systemet in general need a long time to iron out all the bugs. Hope it is in a better state today. I remember when ext4 was new and crashed jag n a laptop. Ubuntu was to early to adopt it, or I did not use LTS.
But as always, make sure to have a proper backup on a different physical location.
