Still not as bad as a glass jar.
Warning: you seriously do not want to look up One Man One Jar if you value not feeling horrified.

That’s definitely much more challenging.
A horse-sized bullet
Is it the one with amazing abs?
Is the problem all the spotted dick pudding?
Savory is the marketing term
It makes me happy to read this same basic message repeatedly. I’ve been a Linux enthusiast since the late 90s, but back then it definitely felt like it was never going to be a mainstream replacement for Windows due in large part to gaming.
I know Valve isn’t getting nothing out of their investment, but all the same I’m so appreciative that they didn’t abandon their Linux efforts after Steam Machines didn’t catch on.
If you’re also a woman, this may work!
Ah, fair. If it were a Steam license, it would be trivial to switch to the native build. Damn Epic!
Well, no offense intended, but that is cynical. The only way for enshittification to hit Linux would be if only one group controlled it. When IBM/Red Hat discontinued CentOS, the community immediately moved to fill the gap with AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux.
That said, yes, things can always get worse. I don’t think Linux is immune to having problems, but not on the scale of what’s happening with Windows with their Copilot garbage.
Try Proton-GE instead. You might get a couple of FPS more
And that was a big step above just trying to get Wine configured to play games. I did that once way back. It was just too much work for worse performance than Windows. I’m sure there were Linux wizards out there who did a better job getting their games working in Linux than I did.
Now I’m primarily enjoying PC games on a Steam Deck with almost no configuration needed. Amazing!
Ah, you were educated in the Southeastern US too, huh? I don’t math good neither.

Just one more year until Pornhub is 18!
It was so traumatic that it left many of us with a very sexy learning disorder.
What do I call it again, Kiff?

Weird Al Yankovic’s first movie released in 1989. That clearly explains it.
Exactly that. It’s like the movie is all rising action. It just keeps getting more ridiculous.
It only initially released on Roku’s streaming service, but I think it’s available elsewhere now.
It is NOT meant to be historically accurate, which makes it funnier IMO.
He was great as Weird Al
I always recommend Pop_OS! for beginners. It’s IMHO a lot closer to what Ubuntu used to be, uses apt and/or flatpaks (and no snaps), has sane defaults, a good installer, a decent company behind it, nvidia drivers included and their upcoming Cosmic desktop environment looks sick.
Also, I feel like this is a better Fedora-based distro for beginners since it’s harder to break:
