They already answered this:
I’m in DevSecOps, and do a lot of heavy development and testing, as well as PoCs. Ideally, I’d have 128GB of RAM but laptops aren’t quite there yet. The HD is a Samsung SSD.

In all fairness you could fit a small helicopter in their if you wanted too. The 747 Freighters are used to move plane parts and they even based the dreamlifter off of it!
Not sure I’d agree with any study saying it is physically addictive, habitually I’d agree. So you’re willing to ignore science… that’s sounds like a river in Egypt to me mate.
Habit forming and addictive mean the same thing in medical terms. Cannabis has observed withdrawal symptoms like sleeplessness, appetite changes, and nausea that classify it as physically addictive. You’re ignoring these because it dosen’t suit your narrative and beliefs.
My point on the sugar though is it certainly does create addiction. I agree with this provided your talking about refined sugars. The point is though it’s not a drug. Sugars are a natural part of the human diet. They literally make up your DNA. Refined sugars are not natural though.
This is good to know. I had no idea toner is so bad for the environment. It’s yet another reason to use ink tank printers.
lots of ink paying for more than you need
You pay less for an ink refil on an ink tank printer than you do a toner refil for a laser printer. This is despite the fact that the ink refil lasts longer.
I agree with the idea that infrequent users should consider laser printers. The main issue I have with them though is the cost. A colour laser printer is more expensive than even a tank printer which is expensive to begin with. It also can’t do photos very well which is something a lot of people use printers for. Greyscale laser printers are only good for text.
Some of you should try ink tank printers. Low ink prices and lots of ink in each refill. They come out of the box with thousands of pages worth if ink! Only problem is they sometimes get clogged.
It is physically addictive. Research has shown this already I am fairly sure. It’s not nearly as addictive as some other things like alcohol obviously. Psychological addiction also shouldn’t be dismissed.
Sugar is dangerous? Maybe refined sugars are - especially if you’re diabetic - but most sugars are actually natural and some form complex carbohydrates and fibres. It’s a lot more complex than this hot take. Sometimes even diabetic people need sugar in an emergency condition called hypoglycemia. It’s also not in any way a drug; really wish people stopped saying this. Also genetic material is partially made from sugars like ribose and deoxyribose.
There are real life consequences to smoking too much weed and this can include damage to your lungs and can negatively impact the brain. Brain problems is mostly an issue for people under 25 though so smoking after this age is less problematic. That being said it’s still much better than some other drugs like you say. Before people ask yes this includes alcohol as alcohol is quite toxic to brain and body when consumed habitually.
Weed can’t replace all prescriptions either. It’s just not as good at blocking pain as opiates even if it’s a lot safer. That being said if it helps you then that’s great - especially if it’s in edible form or spray form as this is healthier than smoking.
I am not saying police in my country are perfect but they at least aren’t this bad. I can see why ancaps and regular anarchists are are a big thing in the USA.
Then it’s a bad analogy. Kbin and Lemmy work independently. Linux and GNU are part of the same stack. Like it’s not remotely comparable. They are also written in two different languages so I doubt they share that much code on the backend at least.
I thought Kbin was much newer than lemmy. So Kbin would be the new stepchild?
Unless you plan on reading all that source code yourself and verifying it’s bug free then it’s not more secure at all.
What are the two in S tier?
I don’t know why they are booing you, you’re right! If you don’t want a printer that’s a loss leader with expensive ink then buy a tank printer or a laser printer.
Cartridge based inkjet printers are almost always a loss leader and you also buy the part that does the printing every time you buy a cartridge. The print heads are actually on the cartridge, not in the printer at all.
Tank based inkjet printers are very different - the printer costs more but the ink is cheap. They also have no way of knowing what brand ink you use since it’s just ink - not a whole set of print heads and a microchip. This is all because the print heads are part of the printer - not included with the ink in a cartridge.
Laser printers are also great but they get even more complex. They have drum units which can be part of the toner cartridge or a separate unit that needs replacing periodically depending on the design of the printer.
Yeah having 4 mods for something this large isn’t realistic, though I also understand they have problems with the moderation tools. Hopefully they can find more mods and lemmy can get better tools. I think once that happens they are considering refederation.
As much as it seems like a bone headed decision I can understand why they made it and that they probably didn’t have much choice given the resources theu have. I suggested to them that they should consider a whitelist/invite only system of users from certain instances instead. I haven’t heard back from the mods on that but another user has already tried to shoot me down.
Edit: I have been told a whitelist isn’t currently supported by Lemmy.
I actually just joined today and this is my second ever comment. It wasn’t too hard to get setup, given I hadn’t been on any fediverse until now. I have to say I like how well the instances link together too, at least from what I have seen so far.
I am using Jerboa at the moment and while it is kind of basic it seems faster compared to Reddit Sync or the official reddit app. This is a very good sign as I have had issues with both offical reddit and sync in the past including a fair amount of crashes. I might have to look for a desktop app soon and at some other fediverse types (don’t know the terminology), I know there is one for videos for instance.
I am kind of interested to see an instance like this. I am a member of r/Autism_Pride and some similar subreddits so this seems like somewhere I could spend some time.
p.s. Is there any drug or harm reduction communities I should now about? How about fountain pens or baking bread? Random I know but thought it was worth an ask.
It’s not my comment. You are talking to the completely wrong person. Go look at their comments.
