A United States. You wouldn’t say “an uniform”. You would say “an underling”. First one has a y sound to start, second has a u sound to start. The usage of a/an depends on the next sound, not the next letter.

You can’t pay for donations as that encourages risky behavior. People who shouldn’t donate will if they can make money.
It’s a flex.
Plenty of people, at least at one time, used clambake to refer to a hotbox. “Clambake weed” returns plenty of results, although it does appear the inverse sausagefest definition is more popular. Why can’t it be both?
I disagree with “not really good”, I barely notice a difference between it and my fancy thermal grizzly paste. It’s fine, and the “good” pastes are also fine.

Clambake has always meant smoking weed in an enclosed space to me, typically a car. See also: fishbowl

I have way too much fun Shazam-ing birds with the Merlin Bird ID app. Constantly listening for new calls now, it’s like Pokémon hunting IRL.
What do you mean by correlate, could you provide an example?
I like to make wishes at 11:11 and 12:34 but they “won’t come true” if I look at the clock again on the same time (eg. see it’s 11:11, make a wish, can’t look until 11:12 at least).
That’s pretty fucking funny “big brother” was associated with porn rather than privacy.
Covertly stab out the speakers.
They never asked for your consent to pollute your mind with invasive thoughts, jingles, etc. Don’t ask for theirs.
It’s the opposite for me, I feel liberated for not having to make small talk with the cashier. I can scan at my leisure and don’t have to really talk to anyone. I may be being observed but it’s less direct compared to going through the regular checkout.
My 20 year old Steam login uses a defunct ISP email from the dial up days. I changed the actual email associated with it for passwords etc. but my login is still “deranger@oldisp.com”
But the point I was trying to make is email has always been free or included, in my experience. The fact Gmail was free was never the draw imo.
Free / included with every internet I had since 1999… when was it even moderately expensive?
Nothing you send out to the internet can be deleted.
Absolutely needs a hit counter.
I don’t feel like they’re the poster child for enshittification; I still use Facebook the same as I did in 2006. It got worse, true, but it’s not enshittification worse. It’s worse because every cunt with a phone can get on from their phones. I don’t feel it’s enshittification as there’s no fees and it still serves the same basic function of keeping in touch with friends/family and uploading photos. How do you feel it was enshittified?
If they were charging for photo storage or a certain number of friends, or fees for business pages, I’d agree. I don’t see monitization or the ruthless pursuit of profit as the main force behind why Facebook sucks these days.
They’re attempting to massively increase the number of new students without also massively increasing the support required.
You can’t just bump intakes 40% without a plan.
As someone who has avidly been reading manuals since the early 90s, car manuals have always been pretty good. Home audio/video equipment has also had great manuals over the years too. I don’t recall a time these turned to shit.
Motherboards / BIOS documentation comes in dead last, and has always been shit. Dozens and dozens of proprietary settings that are not described by the manual nor the built in help, and there’s only conjecture online. At least now the English is mostly correct, but they’re still very bad at describing what niche settings do.
