I really enjoyed your explanation, thanks for the effortpost
I’ve heard good things about Turbo 8, so glad to see the continued investment. Last I used it, it felt like it brought sense to the UI. Hotwire makes UI development not suck and I strongly recommend giving it a good try. It takes a bit to get used to, but once the paradigm clicks it’s hard to imagine developing a frontend without it.
It’s nearly every other post on my lemmy everything feed. Jeeeerez give it a rest.
I can’t say I’m a huge fan of btrfs, in my limited sample size of one I had several episodes of esoteric errors and data loss. It’s anecdotal but filesystems have never been something to give me trouble in any other scenario to date. They just exist and do their job silently in my experience, except for btrfs.
Glad I can shove more things into the same physical space. I can’t wait until HAMR is ready next!
I’m 100% with you on that. I have filtered out so many communities because I get frustrated seeing the same shit posted to every iteration of a stupid news community. It’s exhausting to try and see things once.
I knew I wasn’t the only one who noticed this. Absolutely infuriating. I hate self checkout because of shit like this
You have precisely described my experience with my latest laptop. I get probably 4 hours of battery life in this mode. After that my battery is probably at 20% or less which means that when I open the laptop there’s almost nothing I can do with it.
I had to figure out how to re-enable S3 sleep and now I’m struggling with my stupid Wi-Fi adapter which breaks every time I resume from sleep but all I have to do is toggle it and I’m back to running again. After doing this change my battery life in sleep will actually last at least a day now which is massive compared to what it used to be.
Yep, same for me
Agreed, I’m more active here but the depth of content is something I miss. I’m optimistic things will improve over time as we attract more and more users.
You got that right. Transplant in the house.
That was great!
