A beanie in the winter because it was cold outside
Yeah, they never gave a shit about that, it was all religious services on Sundays only. If I remember correctly there was Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Jewish, and Buddhist services, and I think maybe Wiccan.
When I was in basic training in the U.S. Army in the late '90s, we were also offered free bibles and rosary beads and no other religious materials, although there were various services for many religions on Sundays that you were allowed to attend.
Graduating from college, and with a 4.0. I fucking HATE school, and i put that shit off until my 30s. None of it was easy and I studied my ass off to get that 4.0. I truly never thought I would ever graduate, I started and stopped so many times.
That’s fair
Best: Reese’s peanut butter cups
Worst: Tootsie Rolls, they’re just wax with a slightly sweet flavor
Cigarettes. Went cold turkey every time. 3 time’s the charm! It’s been 13 years now, but I still occasionally get cravings, and sometimes I dream about having one and then wake up feeling super guilty and horrible about myself even though it wasn’t real.
One of the first jobs I had out of high-school was working at a gas station and we sold scratch-offs and I don’t recall that we kept track of the tickets at all.
Omg, this sounds awful, you have my deepest sympathy. Didn’t they give you anything for pain management!?
I don’t, I just finally gained the willpower to get up and do shit even though I’m not motivated. Very often in life, you have to do shit you don’t wanna do. This doesn’t mean your life sucks and that you cannot find any joy in your day, this is simply a fact of life. Once you accept this and stop having feelings about it, it’s 100% easier to go about your day. I don’t think this is a modern day thing, either. I’m sure you could pick any time period in history and find a human that wasn’t thrilled with the idea of getting up and doing XYZ thing that they had to do that day in order to survive.
They often come in sets of pants and a T-shirt, but like others have posted, most of my pajama shirts are old T-shirts that have become too holey to wear in public.
Nope, too hard. My mind is all over the place as long as I’m awake. Work, video games, book storylines, politics, a constant background soundtrack of music, from TV commercial jingles to the chorus of whatever song I heard last, plus my own inner monologue are all constantly going on in my head. It’s generally not a distraction except when I’m trying to fall asleep at night, but if it was, I’d assume that’s what having ADHD is like? But trying to “Silence” my mind is impossible, it just never shuts up, even in sleep I have ridiculously vivid dreams that feel real until I wake up.
I bought my cat a massive cat tree also and have zero regrets, she loves it.
It super depends on who’s saying it!
Looks like I’m getting paid to play video games. I’ll take it!
First I’d wonder how they got through my security gate. I would not let them in. I’m a 5’3" middle-aged woman and I know my limitations, I’m not as young and strong as I used to be. I would talk to them through the door and not open it. If they said they wanted food and water, I might give them something but I would tell them to back up far away from the door before I put anything out there for them. Once they took it, I would ask them to leave.
So I looked into the USSS, and here from their FAQ: "Under Title 18, Section 3056, of the United States Code, agents and officers of the United States Secret Service can:
Carry firearms
Execute warrants issued under the laws of the United States
Make arrests without warrants for any offense against the United States committed in their presence, or for any felony recognizable under the laws of the United States if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed such felony
Offer and pay rewards for services and information leading to the apprehension of persons involved in the violation of the law that the Secret Service is authorized to enforce
Investigate fraud in connection with identification documents, fraudulent commerce, fictitious instruments and foreign securities and
Perform other functions and duties authorized by law"
This leads me to wonder just how many times a SS Agent witnessed Trump committing a felony in their presence but didn’t arrest him.
