And Mick isn’t brain dead, his father is. That was the joke ;) Not my most clever one ever, I’ll admit.
RB is employing Max Verstappen, who is known to abuse his own children.
And Mercedes has Mick Schumacher as reserve driver, a man that is practically braindead!
Can you describe the smell question
What’s Latifi doing these days, anyway?
Ah. Yeah, agreed!
Where did I imply that he’s better than Ocon?
I think Stroll had seasons in which he showed that he could be a decent midfield driver. He has the potential to be better than his “daddy bought a team for me” stigma.
I think Stroll is a prime example for how fucking brutal it can be to get dominated by your team mate. I think the only driver in recent years that was in a similar situation and didn’t fall off a cliff was Bottas, who clearly was no match for Hamilton, but still delivered what was expected of him. Checo apparently can’t do that against Verstappen, and it’s obvious that Alonso has completely destroyed Strolls confidence.
It is so fucking frustrating that Stroll doesn’t have to worry about keeping that seat. Any other driver on the grid with that performance would be sweating hard.
I wonder if Lewis’ success has changed Marco’s view of Africans!
Stroll is probably my disappointment of the season. I never expected much from De Vries, but Stroll always seemed like a decent midfield driver to me, better than the “daddy bought a team for me” stigma that he has going for him. But this season he’s getting obliterated by Alonso, and he doesn’t seem to be able to recover.
I don’t think Yuki has been stellar enough to be an obvious candidate, though he for sure has shown improvement this season. Ricciardo only has a few races left to deliver big time, else he’s just too much of a risk. Albon has been amazing this season, but I have a feeling he’s commited to Williams where he has established himself as the #1 driver. Zhou might be leaving, but I don’t see why RB would want him.
It’s Checos own fault that we’re having this discussion in the first place. He’s my favourite driver, but goddamn he can’t keep having these mid season slumps.
Edit: forgot Sainz. He’s one of those where I’d question whether they’d want the RB seat and bow to Verstappen.
I guess, but with his broken hand he doesn’t have an awful lot of races left to prove himself, and he needs to properly deliver, else the risk is just too high for RB imo. The last thing you wanna do is let Checo go and then get McLaren Ricciardo.
Who’d be a better choice in your opinion? What driver is available and actually wants the seat?
Yuuuup. Not only is that silver McLaren the best looking F1 car ever, the current car is also the worst of the papaya era (last years being a close second)
Either Yuki or Danny will have to perform miracles in the second half of the season, otherwise I don’t see this happening.
Looking at the previous two seasons, I think (hope) Checo will recover from this and start bringing home good points again, just enough to ensure he’s still the safest bet. But Horner and especially Marko won’t forget this.
And somewhere in the background is Alpine not getting shit done for the umpieth season in a row
They should give Ocon a time bonus every time he’s on the track
Niagara Launcher for me. Love the minimalistic approach!
