328kbps in a lossy format is plenty. You might be one of those people who claim to hear the difference, but to date we are yet to see a double blind trial where a substantial percentage of individuals reliably could demonstrate such ability.

It’s a bit more complicated than that. There are multiple codecs available (some with much higher bitrates), but even in AAC (which I assume you are referring to) there are different implementations. Also note that 328kbps is not “garbage mp3”, 128kbps CBR was the common (and shit) variant that you probably meant. But more modern codecs achieve much better fidelity at lower bitrates even.

Sure, but that’s not the only problem with discord as a documentation. I’d argue, from a practical standpoint that that’s not even really a big problem. The problem is that a stream of random conversation, sprinkled with memes and jokes, with multiple parties having a chat is the absolute possible worst way to find information (and it’s not even guaranteed to be there if someone hasn’t asked; or maybe someone asked, but never got answered)

That’s only microsopically better than just discord. A (shitty, but somehow popular) chat service is not documentation, even if it’s indexed.

Lot’s of new people joined during/after the reddit shitshow. Naturally, not all of them like it and that’s fine. If anything, I’m surprised there isn’t more churn.

This is only a thing in the US. In other parts of the world, iphone users have to adapt to whatever messenger platform has the most people in it (likely whatsapp or facebook messenger, maybe telegram)

For me, they do seem to have an effect. I sleep better, my nails become strong and generally I feel more enegized. The latter is of course very subjective.

It’s up to you how much you want to pay vs. how much time you are willing to sink into it. A synology is overpriced and underpowered, but you get a nice plug and play solution eith sane defaults. I went with that, fully knowing that price-wise, it’s not optimal. But I don’t enjoy tinkering as much as I used to.
