+1 Usual Suspects for sure. That movie blew my mind.

Same. It’s nice to have a way to quickly look through a bunch of options (even if 95% of them are shitty Chinese counterfeits). I’ll even look through the reviews and see if anything glaring jumps out. But I haven’t been a prime member since they put ads in prime video and haven’t really missed it.
The story in Horizon Forbidden West is pretty good too. There’s a whole bit in the dlc about Ted Faro that I did not see coming, but it makes me think a lot of the tech bros running things today.
Yeah, but the non-tech savvy business leaders see they can generate code with AI and think ‘why do I need a developer if I have this AI?’ and have no idea whether the code it produces is right or not. This stat should be shared broadly so leaders don’t overestimate the capability and fire people they will desperately need.
It’s been a LONG time since I was legitimately excited for a sequel. So ready for this one.
Biden has come a long way from the good old days of “Diamond Joe”. I’m so disappointed in him for how he’s handling this.
He works for a marketing and web design firm. So the guy who designed their graphics is gone and they are using AI tools. Imagine paying for a firm to build you web and marketing materials only to have someone just use an AI.
Why bother paying the marketing firm at all?
Yeah, some of these are just getting extra attention because the plane is a Boeing and media is on the lookout for it. (Probably) not Boeing’s fault, but they will continue to be blamed for all issues on their planes until things are resolved with the investigation. Not exactly fair for Boeing, but they kinda brought this on themselves.
It also has a chicken-egg problem. What if the indicators of talent or skill aren’t apparent because of abysmally poor living and educational conditions? The lack of opportunity in many developing countries is such that people will be less successful and appear less talented simply because their country has limited ways for them to demonstrate it.
Whenever I think of the good old days of the internet (like 2000-2009) I think of using stumbleupon and finding the best and most random stuff.
Oolong, steeped in my tea mug that has a lid on it. Usually with some local honey. Mmmm
Because truthfully the president doesn’t make enough difference if Congress continues to be absolutely fucking useless.
I hate how true this is. Honestly we need to have a better strategy for the legislature than we do now. Assuming that it will go the same way as the president or ignoring it because it isn’t one of the “big” elections is why every dem in the last 20 years has gotten roadblocked in moving forward any real progressive policy.
I second How did this get made, though now that Stitcher is gone their back catalog isn’t available anywhere so you have to just get current episodes ( I’m a completionist so that bugs me).
I also enjoy history vs. But I mainly listened to it because of their series on Teddy Roosevelt. It was fantastic. I recommend it , but I think they cover a lot of different topics so YMMV based on the individual series/topic being covered.
Yeah I know. My brother in law (and by extention my sister) are super smart and politically active but they have a house full of data sucking gadgets like Alexa and absolutely no concerns about data privacy or security. I’ve tried to talk to them about being more selective about how they share their data, but my brother in law is a lawyer so trying to persuade him is like going to court and is just exhausting.
I am normally really protective with my data but I don’t get the outrage here. If the data is all about how you use the app and the report relates to things relevant to usage that are interesting and is sent just to you,I don’t see the harm. It’s not broadcast to the world and isn’t sharing a bunch of sensitive information (as far as I know). It just seems like a fun way to reflect on the year.
I use Pandora and I wish they did something like this. As much as pandora is all about data I would love to see a report on my music listening with some of their insights about music attributes included.
Don’t know how I missed this one when I had a PS1 but it would have definitely have been up my alley back in the day. Maybe I’ll get around to getting an emulator for my PC to pick it up again. Could be fun getting back into those old games again - I wouldn’t mind picking up the old Metal Gear 2 game again.
I too feel old now lol
A demolition derby game like wreckfest but without the racing. Leveling, gear, competitions are all focused on destroying other cars and being last one standing.
Bonus if some shenanigans are allowed like you get out of your car and fight other drivers.
Yeah there’s only a couple subtle hints in the regular game and I think more in the dlc. I’m guessing they’ll lean into it more with control 2 now that AW2 is out as well.
Yeah, and that is also scary. There is so little accountability in tech and the excitement over AI is just going to create a new generation of tech bro leaders for Forbes to write cover stories about.
It blows my mind to see so many leaders so nonchalant about genocide.
